Ypióca ist die traditionellste und größte Cachaca Marke Brasiliens. Gegründet 1846 und seither in Familienbesitz. Zum Unternehmen gehört noch Brasiliens zweitgrößte Mineralwassermarke.

 

Die Produktionskette beginnt mit dem Zuckerrohranbau auf eigenen Feldern über Destillation, Abfüllug bis hin zur Verwertung der Pressrückstände für Viehfutter und Papierherstellung.

Der Cachaca Ypióca wird aus dem Saft des ganzen Zuckerrohrs destilliert und ausschließlich in Holzfässern gelagert.

 

Die bekanntesten Cachaca Sorten von Ypióca sind die Strohflasche Ypióca Ouro und Prato (das Stroh für diese Flaschen wird von 7000 Fremdarbeitern geflochten). Die Sorte Ypióca Super Premium 150 ist die edelste und wird auch sehr gerne pur genossen. Der Ypióca Super Premium 150 ist mindestens 6 Jahre alt.

 

Cachaca wird meistens in Cocktails verwendet, am bekanntesten und aus keiner Bar mehr wegzudenken ist der „Caipirinha“, aber auch Batidas (Fruchtcocktails) sind wichtig und werden sehr gerne mit Cachaca Ypióca gemixt.
